Francis + Benedict is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to empower skilled Togolese women through dignified, sustainable employment and spiritual discipleship.

Through our handcrafted fashion and generous mission partners, we invest in seamstresses, community leaders, and next-generation changemakers in Togo, West Africa—creating jobs, funding local initiatives, and restoring hope for orphans, widows, and families in poverty.

ECONOMIC DISCIPLESHIP

The Economic Discipleship lane is dedicated to providing holistic, sustainable support for women to achieve financial independence and spiritual growth. The core of this effort is the Seamstress Apprenticeship Program, which not only provides technical training but also offers stable Seamstress Salaries and culminates in empowering Graduation Packages to launch careers. Further investment is made in essential operational areas, including securing supplies and necessary transportation. Crucial complementary development is provided through Business Seminars and the important spiritual element of Pastoral Retreats.

HEALTH

The Health impact lane is committed to the well-being of every seamstress and her family. We provide security and stability through comprehensive Health Care insurance for all Togo seamstresses and families, ensuring access to routine and preventative care. Additionally, the program includes dedicated Health Savings for Emergency Services, creating a vital financial safety net. These core initiatives are supplemented by targeted Special Projects that address immediate or unique community health needs as they arise.

EDUCATION

The Education impact lane is committed to empowering the next generation through academic support and financial security. This initiative provides crucial funding via 1:1 Child Sponsorships and Scholarships. To bolster academic success, we offer a dedicated Child Tutoring Program. Furthermore, the program manages the high education Gibson Girls Fund and fosters long-term planning through Savings programs, with flexibility to address emerging needs through Special Projects.

NUTRITION

The Nutrition impact lane is dedicated to combating food insecurity and promoting wellness among participants and their families. Core efforts include the Yearly Food Drop to provide essential supplies, and the regular stocking and management of Benedict’s Pantry for ongoing assistance. We also allocate funds to cover Food costs for meals provided through the tutoring program and other HOP initiatives.
